TRUE SELF
PROJECT

A Psychology of Courage That Starts With the Self—And Ripples Outward

About My Approach

Most personal growth approaches focus on changing what you do or think. But there’s a hidden layer beneath all of it: your self-concept—the invisible blueprint that shapes everything in your life.

You might not realize it, but you are operating from deep, often unconscious beliefs like ‘I don’t deserve ease,’ ‘Love requires sacrifice,’ or a more general sense that ‘Life is hard.’ These aren’t just thoughts—they are expressions of distorted assumptions about who you are, what you are capable and deserving of in life, and they work like silent, yet, very potent commands dictating your choices, attracting challenging relationships, and even influencing your luck.

This work, then, is not about dressing old wounds in new positive affirmations. It’s about locating the source code of your struggles—those buried stories you’ve mistaken for truth—and rewriting them at the root. When that happens, change isn’t hard work, but the natural result of seeing yourself  authentically.

Your self-concept programs your reality. Together, we'll rewrite the code.

Why do we cling to stories that hurt us? Because we confuse the certainty of suffering with safety itself. Let’s build safety in growth, not limitation.

Therapy helps you understand your pain. Here, we focus instead on changing the mental and emotional habits that generate it—so you can stop dissecting the past and start shaping your present.

Science-backed Transformation

Your brain wires itself around the meanings you repeatedly give to your experiences. What if you chose meanings that truly worked for you, not against you?

Your brain isn’t fixed—it’s built to change. Research in neuroplasticity confirms that our self-concept isn’t permanent; it’s a set of neural pathways shaped by experience. But outdated patterns can keep you stuck in loops of self-sabotage, stress, or stagnation.

The good news? You can rewire them. This isn’t just about change—it’s about reclaiming agency over your inner world. Every step shifts your neural architecture, building resilience, self-trust, and a deeper sense of wholeness. The process is yours to shape, and the outcome is a life that reflects who you truly are.

Shadow Work as Reality Engineering

What if the parts you deem unacceptable hold your greatest power?

What you deny, you repeat. What you repress, you attract. Shadow work isn’t just about ‘healing wounds’—it’s about reclaiming the disowned power trapped in your subconscious. When you integrate your shadow parts, you stop projecting your unconscious onto the world. You stop manifesting the same dramas. And you unlock a paradoxical truth: The parts of yourself you’ve been running from are the very ones that can set you free.

Spirituality as Practical Psychology

You’re already creating your reality—the question is, are you doing it by accident or on purpose?

Spirituality, stripped of dogma, is just the study of consciousness—and consciousness is the bedrock of experience. Whether you call it ‘quantum physics,’ ‘mindfulness,’ or ‘law of assumption,’ the principle is the same: Your awareness shapes your reality. But this isn’t about ‘positive thinking.’ It’s about precision thinking. It’s spotting the moments you unconsciously reinforce old identities. And it’s practicing—in real time—the art of becoming the version of you who already has what you seek.

Sandra's methodology is a unique synthesis of her multidisciplinary background. It integrates the narrative depth of literature, the structural analysis of systems and power dynamics, and the empirical rigor of psychology, all grounded in timeless spiritual wisdom. This framework is brought to life through experiential, parts-based, and heart-led methods—informed by a deep, empathetic understanding forged through her own journey and many years of facilitating transformation.

Ultimately, Sandra believes that healing is possible and that living from your authentic Self is not a distant dream, but a practical skill. It is the key to a life that feels less like a burden and more like a joyful, creative game.

Demystifying the Work: Your Key Questions Answered

1. Isn't this just CBT or another form of talk therapy?

No. Traditional therapy often stays in the realm of analyzing problems. This is active psyche work: we’ll work to rewrite the stories that live beneath your thoughts.

  • CBT focuses on changing thoughts; we focus on dialoguing with the subconscious (through symbols, dreams, and active imagination).

  • Traditional therapy often revisits trauma; we ask: "How is this story living in you now, and how can you rewrite it?"

  • Instead of "managing symptoms," we reintegrate what’s been split off—so anxiety, shame, or self-sabotage lose their grip naturally.

2. Will we talk about my childhood?

Only as it relates to present-day patterns. Childhood informs your inner characters, but we won’t dwell there—we’ll focus on how to reclaim agency over the stories you carry now.

3. What’s "shadow work," and how does it help?

Your shadow is made up of aspects of yourself you’ve repressed—traits, desires, or emotions deemed "unacceptable." These disowned fragments often drive self-sabotage or projections onto others. By bringing them to light with curiosity (not shame), you reintegrate lost power and reduce inner conflict.

4. How is shadow work different from ‘healing my past’?

Shadow work isn’t about reliving trauma—it’s about reclaiming the power you gave away when you disowned parts of yourself. We focus on:

  • Where does this story show up in your life now?

  • What would it look like to reintegrate what you’ve exiled?

5. You say there’s ‘no trauma’—but what if I’m hurting?

Pain is real. But fixation on trauma as an identity keeps you stuck. Adler taught that meaning shapes suffering—so we’ll ask:

  • How is this pain serving you?

  • Who would you be if you weren’t defined by this story?

6. What’s a ‘subpersonality’ (and why does it matter)?

Think of them as inner characters (the perfectionist, the wounded child, the rebel) who took over during vulnerable times. Our work isn't to fix them, or worse, eliminate them—we want to understand their concerns and earn their trust, so they can relax their rigid roles and contribute in healthier ways.

7. What if I get ‘stuck’ in my shadow?

You won’t. This work isn’t about drowning in darkness—it’s about reclaiming your full range (e.g., anger as boundaries, vulnerability as strength). I’ll guide you through this process safely.

8. Is this spiritual?

It can be—but only if you want it to be. The core Self is simply your wisest, most capable, mature, creative, compassionate and loving self, the most authentic version of you. We’ll use the language you resonate with (psychology, symbolism, or soul).

9. How fast does this work?

  • Faster than traditional therapy because we’re not analyzing ad infinitum—we’re actively reintegrating what’s been repressed.

  • Immediate shifts happen when you see the pattern (e.g., “Oh, my inner critic is protecting me from shame”).

  • Many clients feel shifts in 1-3 sessions (clarity, reduced inner conflict), lasting change unfolds as you practice new ways of being (usually 3-6 months for deep rewiring).

10. Will I need to journal or do homework?

Awareness is the assignment: we’ll design simple, organic practices (e.g., noticing when your “people-pleaser” takes over) that feel like discovery, not chores.

Who This Isn’t For:

  • If you want only symptom management (meds or quick coping skills), CBT or psychiatry may be better.

  • If you prefer to stay in 'analysis mode' rather than take action, traditional therapy might feel safer.

Who This Is For:

  • You’re done with band-aid solutions.

  • You want depth, not just discussion.

  • You’re ready to meet yourself—all parts of yourself—and choose a new way forward.
